Marti Smith is aa Senior IT director at Brasfield & Gorrie. She joined the company in 2001 as a project accountant after graduating from Kennesaw State University with a degree in accounting. Since that time, she has held a variety of progressively responsible positions within the company’s accounting, business process improvement, and IT departments. In each role, Marti has exceled in identifying the changes, challenges, and benefits that new technology brings to the company’s end users. With a keen understanding of Brasfield & Gorrie’s key systems and how to best integrate them to deliver the most business value, she has been essential in effectively delivering solutions that work for employees as well as for the overall organization. Marti was instrumental in implementing the company’s intranet, financial, human resources and project management systems, and Egnyte. Marti contributes to growing technology use in the industry by sharing her expertise as a conference presenter and thought leader. She has presented on topics such as software implementation and end user change management at conferences sponsored by Oracle and other industry leaders. In 2017, she received a Constructech Women in Construction award. Marti participates in Atlanta’s Women in Technology group and NAWIC Atlanta. Marti lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband of 20 years, John, and their two children: Reagan, 16, and Asher, 13. Marti is as passionate about sports as she is about technology, and in her down time, she and her family can be found at a local ballfield or enjoying the great outdoors by camping, hiking, fishing, or hunting.
